About Temap
Welcome to Temap, our Technical Marketing Program,
the vehicle we use to deliver technical and environmental
support to our pulp customers and sometimes to their
customers too. Temap involves visiting customers, getting
to know their needs so that we can serve them better.
Temap involves introducing our wide range of softwood
pulps to customers and offering advice on how to utilise
them most effectively. Temap is understanding or explaining
complex environmental issues surrounding the use of
forest products or the production of pulp and paper.
Temap is focused on the technical, not the commercial.
Temap is supported by the research staff at our Research
and development Centre.
The Temap team includes representatives from Canfor
Pulp & Paper Marketing and customer service and
production staff from each of our pulp mills. The team
travels the globe to deliver our Temap program to customers
and potential customers.
Temap has been running for over a decade now and we
have decided to take it to the web, and this site is
the result of that decision. This site will be a public
one, but proprietary materials that we share with customers
will require password access. The Temap program has
always been two-way, so we would very much appreciate
your feedback on this site, or on the Temap program
overall.
The unique and specialized ways in which our customers
process and blend fibres with other materials to make
their proprietary products, is extremely complex. The
manner in which fibres interact to form a sheet of paper,
or how they respond to refining or chemical treatments,
is complex too. Achieving the optimum and most robust
formulation can seem like fitting together the pieces
of a puzzle.
