Semi-bleached Softwood
Pulp
These pulps are only produced at one of our pulp mills:
Interior BC - Prince George mill
Semi-bleached interior softwood kraft pulps
Canfor produces semi-bleached pulps at its Prince George
mill only. The mill is registered under the ISO 9001
(quality) and ISO 14001 (environmental) management standards.
Semi-bleached pulp is available at two brightness levels:
* PG ECF 67 at 67% ISO (delivered) Download

* PG ECF 77 at 77% ISO (delivered) Download
Typical Property Sheet
Our fibre supply is a blend of white spruce (picea
glauca), lodgepole pine (pinus contorta) and alpine
fir (abies lasiocarpa). The majority of this supply
is the residual material from local sawmills. Due to
the climatic conditions in the region - long cold winters
and relatively short dry summers - these species naturally
develop long, slender and thin-walled fibres. These
fibre properties result in pulp that not only has excellent
tensile strength properties, but also offers superior
wet web reinforcement and sheet dimensional stability.
The mill has highly sophisticated distributed control
systems, a continuous digester, and modern bleaching
and screening systems. Bleaching is done with chlorine
dioxide, oxygen and hydrogen peroxide resulting in environmentally
superior ECF pulps.
